The doorway ghoul that wakes up when the sidewalk gets loud

A hanging ghoul clawing out of a studded plank door, with a hook at the top that drops over the door you already have. Mossy shroud, gray hands, chain at the wrists, red eyes under the hair. It plugs into a 120V outlet and works the front entry all season.

It answers the sidewalk, not the wind

The trigger is sound, so it fires when a group comes up the walk and stays quiet through a gusty night. Motion and audio run off the 120V plug, with no batteries to swap mid-shift.

Built to stay out in the weather

UV-stable materials and weather-shielded electronics mean it goes up outdoors and stays up through the season, so it does not have to come in every time the forecast turns. It works the entry in the open air, not behind glass.

Hangs on the door you already have

The hook at the top drops over a standard door, so the whole slab sits flat against it with no frame to build. From the curb it reads as a barricaded door with something coming through.

Halloween night, then the tote

On the night it works the entry on its own, going off for every group that comes up the walk while you handle the bowl. In November it unhooks and packs flat back into the tote until next season. Order by mid-October: standard runs 5 to 7 days, express 3 to 4.

Does this go in the ground?

No. It hangs. There is a hook at the top that drops over a door you already have, so the studded plank slab sits flat against it with no frame to build and nothing to drive into the lawn.

What sets it off?

Sound. It fires when a group comes up the walk and stays quiet through a gusty night, which is the difference between a prop that works and one that has been going off at leaves since seven o'clock.

Does it take batteries?

No. It plugs into a standard 120V outlet, so there is nothing to swap mid-shift.

Can it hang outside in the weather?

Yes. UV-stable materials and weather-shielded electronics, so it goes up outdoors and stays up through the season instead of coming in every time the forecast turns.

Will it damage my door?

The hook rides over the top edge of the slab, so nothing screws in and nothing adheres. Wipe the top edge before you hang it — grit trapped under a hook is what marks paint, not the hook itself.

How does it come down?

Unhook it, unplug it and it packs flat back into the tote. The shroud folds in over the hands so the moss does not catch on the lid.
