Motorized, plug-in, 67 inches tall
A 67-inch clown in a cream polka-dot jumpsuit, holding a gift box he would very much like you to come look at. Power him up and the motor kicks in, the eyes light, and a jester skull comes up out of the box. Front lawn, plugged into a 120V outdoor cord, standing where the walkway bends toward the porch.
From the curb it reads as a clown holding a present. The skull in the jester hat, white pom-poms and all, waits inside the box, so the person who already decided the clown was fine gets a second thing to deal with at close range.
120V plug-in power. No battery tray to open in the dark on the 31st, no dead prop at 8:15 when the line is longest. Run one outdoor-rated extension cord behind him and stake it down so nobody trips over it.
Rated not for little kids, and the grin with the teeth is the reason. Put him past the candy bowl on the path out, not at the front door, so the toddlers in the costume parade get their candy first and the middle schoolers get the clown.
