Plug-in 120V, motorized, with sound

The witch that hovers twelve feet over the lawn

A full-size witch riding her broom straight up, the stick planted in a four-arm floor base with the bristles on the grass and the hat at twelve feet. She moves and makes noise when the sensor trips, and the green face over the purple cape is the outline every kid on the block knows. Goes at the top of the walk or the corner of the lawn, within cord reach of an outdoor outlet.

The broom is the mast

There is no separate frame to dress around. The broomstick runs from her hands down to the four-arm black base, bristles at the bottom, so from the sidewalk the only thing holding her up is the thing she is supposed to be riding.

Runs off the wall, not batteries

It is 120V plug-in. A cord to an outdoor outlet and she has power for the whole month; nobody is up a ladder the night before swapping batteries in the dark.

Scary at the right dose

Green face, claws, the whole classic silhouette, and the scare level sits at slightly scary. The four-year-olds point at her from the stroller instead of turning around, which means the candy bowl actually empties.

Halloween night, then the tote

On the night she stands at the top of the walk, moving and making noise whenever the sensor is set off, purple cape and green skirt catching the porch light. Come November she comes apart, the fabric folds, and the whole thing goes flat into the tote.

How tall is it?

Twelve feet, from the bristles on the grass to the hat. The broomstick is the mast, so there is no separate frame to dress around.

How does it stand up?

The stick plants into a four-arm black floor base with the bristles at the bottom. Flat ground and cord reach are the only requirements.

Does it make noise?

Yes. It moves and makes noise when the sensor trips, then settles again between groups.

Batteries or outlet?

Outlet. It is 120V plug-in, so one cord to an outdoor outlet gives it power for the whole month. Nobody is up a ladder swapping batteries in the dark.

Is it too scary for little kids?

It sits at slightly scary: green face, claws, the classic silhouette. The four-year-olds point at her from the stroller instead of turning around.

How does it store?

It comes apart in November, the fabric folds, and the whole thing goes flat into the tote.

The tall one wins the block

Twelve feet is a different category. Assembly took two of us about twenty minutes and the pole sections seat firmly.

Anchor it properly

It's a sail in wind, like anything this tall. With real stakes and two guy lines it rode out a gusty night fine.
