It's a single fixed illustration printed onto the rug's surface — the alien, the spiral, the glowing eyes, all inked in with enough depth and shading to read as 3D from a few feet away. There's no physical depth and no moving pieces: the trick is entirely in the print, which is also why it never breaks.
Round, in seven diameters: 16in/40cm, 20in/50cm, 24in/60cm, 32in/80cm, 40in/100cm, 47in/120cm, and 55in/140cm — all at the same 0.19in / 0.5cm thickness.
Vacuum it like you would any rug. For a spill or a stain, a mild detergent and a damp cloth handle it. It's not machine washable, so keep it out of the washer.
It shouldn't. The backing is plastic with rubber non-slip dots, and the edge is locked so it doesn't fray or peel up at the rim over time.
It's designed as an indoor floor rug. We don't have durability data for rain, direct sun, or other outdoor exposure, so it's best kept where the weather can't reach it.

Got the 4-pack and put two just inside the front door and two further down the hallway for our Halloween party. That spiral print genuinely tricks your eye when you walk past it, like the alien is pulling itself out of the floor, and three different neighbors asked where I got it. The backing grips our entryway tile perfectly even with foot traffic all night.
Bought the 8-pack and covered most of our basement floor for a haunted game room theme. My son's friends kept stepping around the middle one because the optical illusion messes with your depth perception, which is exactly the reaction we wanted. The quilted surface is soft enough that nobody minds sitting on it either.
Ordered the 2-pack for our entryway and the design is even better in person than in photos, those glowing blue eyes really pop against the black and white spiral.
