What am I actually looking at on this rug?

A giant widow spider with glowing red eyes, printed in stark 3D detail so it looks like it's climbing out of a hole in your floor. It's a fixed, static print — the '3D' comes from the artwork and shading, not moving parts. No batteries, no lights, no sound. Just a floor that makes people do a double-take.

What sizes does it come in?

Seven diameters: 16in/40cm, 20in/50cm, 24in/60cm, 32in/80cm, 40in/100cm, 47in/120cm, and 55in/140cm, all 0.19in/0.5cm thick. Pick the size and pack count (2, 4, or 8 units) that fit your space when you order.

How do I clean it?

Vacuum it regularly like any rug. For spills or spooky footprints, spot-clean with a mild detergent and a damp cloth. It's not machine washable — this is a printed quilted rug, not a duvet cover.

Will it slide around on hardwood or tile?

No. The backing is non-slip dot plastic, so it grips hard floors and stays put through foot traffic, trick-or-treaters, and startled jumps.

Can I use this outdoors, like on a porch or lawn?

It's built for indoor use — entryways, hallways, living rooms. We don't have data on how it holds up against rain, sun, or an outdoor setup, so keep the abyss inside.

Does it light up or make sound when someone steps on it?

No, and we won't pretend otherwise. It's a static printed rug: no batteries, no motor, no sensor, no sound. The 'moving spider' effect is 100% the artwork and your guests' imagination.

How fast does it ship?

Standard delivery is 5–7 business days. Need it before the party? Express gets it to you in 3–4 business days, shipped from our US supplier.

Can I get different illusion designs in one order?

This listing is the Widowfang design only — every unit in the pack is the same spider-in-the-hole print. We've got 11 other illusion rugs in the collection, each sold as its own product, so just add another listing to your cart if you want to mix designs.

Guests literally stop at the door

We put the 40 inch right inside our front entryway and it's already caused two grown adults to jump back before stepping over it. The quilted fabric feels way sturdier than I expected from a printed rug, and the rubber dots on the back keep it locked in place on our hardwood even during the after-school rush of kids running in and out. My husband wants to order the 8-pack now to line the whole entry hall.

Perfect for our community haunted house

We run a community haunted house walkthrough every October and needed something durable enough to survive foot traffic for weeks, and the 4-pack held up perfectly laid across the main hallway leading into the maze. Kids stop dead when they see the spider under a flashlight beam, and the quilted surface hasn't frayed at the edges even after being stepped on a few hundred times. Express shipping got all four to us in under four days, which saved opening weekend.

Arrived rolled tight but easy fix

The 24 inch came a little curled at the edges from being rolled for shipping, so it wouldn't sit fully flat in my entryway at first. I put a couple of heavy books on the corners overnight and by morning it laid completely flat with no more curling. The color and print quality are honestly better than I expected for the price, so a minor shipping wrinkle isn't going to stop me from ordering another design.

Feels sturdier than the seasonal store stuff

I was ready for another flimsy Halloween rug that falls apart by November, but this is genuinely quilted and padded underfoot, not just a thin printed mat. My grandkids sit right on top of it to look for the eyes and it hasn't flattened or worn through at all. Vacuuming it once a week keeps it looking new.

Beautiful design, just know it doesn't light up

I ordered the 2-pack to test it before committing to a bigger set, and I'll admit the product photos made the red eyes look like they might actually glow, so I was a little let down when it arrived and it's a fully static printed rug with no light or sound. Once I got over that and put it near the entry light at night, the shading in the print does a lot of the work on its own and the illusion still reads really well to visitors. I kept both rugs and I'm planning to grab a different design from the collection for the hallway, just wanted future buyers to know upfront it's the artwork doing the illusion, not any electronics.

My sister actually screamed at the top of the stairs

We laid it at the top of the basement stairs where the lighting is dim, and my sister let out a real scream the first time she saw it, which is exactly the reaction we wanted. The purple, green and orange checkerboard behind the spider is way more vivid in person than I expected, and it hasn't slid an inch on our hardwood thanks to the rubber dots on the back. Already eyeing another design from the collection for the upstairs hallway.

Colors are a touch darker in person, still great

The purple in the checkerboard reads a bit more muted in person than in the listing photos, closer to an eggplant than the bright purple I expected, so that was a small surprise when I unboxed the 32 inch. It ended up working out fine since it actually blends better with the rest of my fall decor than the brighter version would have. We used it in front of the fireplace for a Halloween party and it got compliments all night, cleanup was just a quick vacuum after.

Ordered the small size for my office door

I got the 16 inch just to put outside my office at work, and it's become a whole thing with coworkers stopping to look at the spider before they go in. It's easy to keep clean with a quick vacuum since I'm not about to spend my lunch break scrubbing a rug, and it's held its shape fine sitting on tile all day. Already ordered a second design from the illusion rug collection for my front door at home.
