The dark room thing is real

Skeptical about the 'keep the room dark' warning until I actually tried it with a lamp on. Lights off, it's completely convincing from the driveway. Lights on, it just looks like a TV. Worth reading that part before you set it up.

First thing people see now

She stands right by the door and every trick-or-treater stops for her before they even ring the bell. Ten minutes to set up and she has been the centerpiece of the porch ever since.

Great size, plan your storage

It is genuinely huge, which is what I wanted, but folding it back into the bag at the end of the night takes two people. Worth it for how it looks lit up.

Four of them along our walk is the move

Bought the four-pack. Spaced them evenly and it looks like an actual lit path, not just decorations scattered around.

Got the 8-pack for the whole house

One on every couch and chair we own, plus a couple in the guest room closet. Cheapest way I found to decorate the whole house at once.

Heavier and better made than the inflatable it replaced

Our old inflatable pumpkin decoration lasted two seasons before the seams gave out. This is solid resin, noticeably heavier, and the detail on the face makes the inflatable look like a cartoon by comparison.

The slow rise is the detail that sells it

I expected a snap or a jerk. It actually eases up like it's straightening its posture, which is somehow more unsettling than a fast movement would be. My neighbor two doors down noticed it from her porch.

8-pack for a Halloween party favor idea

Bought the 8-pack planning to send guests home with one each after our party. Ended up keeping two for ourselves, they're that nice.

Fabric feels heavier than expected

Compared it to a fifteen footer a neighbor has from another brand. Ours is noticeably thicker fabric and the seams look double-stitched, not just serged.

Batteries didn't last as long as I hoped

Ran about three weeks of nightly use before the eyes started dimming. Not a dealbreaker, just budget rechargeables if you're running it every night.

Slight pilling after a few washes

Still soft but you can feel a little bit of pilling starting on the high-friction spots after several washes. Low heat dry helps. Not a dealbreaker for a seasonal blanket.

Not for the little ones

Fair warning, this is not a friendly skeleton. Small kids on our street go around it. Teenagers came back three times to set it off. Know which street you have before you buy.

Sheds a bit the first few washes

Some loose fuzz came off in the wash the first two times, settled down after that. Tumble dry on low and a lint roller handled it fine.

Bigger than every other prop on the street

We have the usual mix of inflatables and 6-foot skeletons on our block and this is a different category entirely. It is the one thing every trick-or-treater points at before they even reach the driveway.

The glow is the whole show

Didn't expect the face to actually glow from inside — assumed it'd just be a spotlight on it. The LED behind the cutouts makes it look carved, not lit up from outside.

The sensor range surprised me

It catches motion from further out than I expected — by the time someone's at the mailbox it's already lit and moaning. No lag.

The 4-pack made sense for us

One per kid plus one for the living room. Cheaper per blanket than buying two separately and nobody's fighting over whose is whose anymore.

Sturdy enough for two front-door setups

Bought the 2-pack in 55 inch, one for just inside our front door and one in the entry hall leading to the kitchen. Both get stepped near constantly during Halloween visits and the locked edge hasn't frayed or curled at all after a full season. Solid piece for the price, already planning to grab a second design before next Halloween.

Feels built to last, not thrown away in November

Put the 4-pack down in our garage for the haunted display and it's noticeably sturdier than the disposable stuff we used to get at the seasonal Halloween store. The quilted top vacuums clean easily and the black in the checkerboard still looks deep and rich after weeks of dust. This is going right back into the bins for next year instead of the trash.

Great prop, wind is real

Looks incredible once it's anchored, but I'd add extra stakes if you're anywhere windy — the included ones held but I could feel it wanted more on a gusty night.

Timer does exactly what it says

Six on, eighteen off, no app, nothing to set up beyond plugging it in. It's been running itself since the day we put it up.

The colors are what sell it

Everyone else on the street has plain orange lights, so the purple and green pouring out of the cauldron actually stops people walking their dogs. Put two by the mailbox and it reads from the whole corner.

Ordered the small size for my office door

I got the 16 inch just to put outside my office at work, and it's become a whole thing with coworkers stopping to look at the spider before they go in. It's easy to keep clean with a quick vacuum since I'm not about to spend my lunch break scrubbing a rug, and it's held its shape fine sitting on tile all day. Already ordered a second design from the illusion rug collection for my front door at home.

Wish it were machine washable, but spot cleaning works

With two kids tracking stuff in from outside I was hoping this could just go in the wash, but the listing is clear it's vacuum and spot-clean only, and a juice spill wiped off fine with a damp cloth and mild soap. Knocking off a couple stars for the extra hands-on maintenance, but I'm keeping it — this design gets more comments from visitors than anything else we've put up for Halloween, so it's staying by the front door.
