Third skeleton, first one that stayed up

The two big-box ones before this folded at the hips by week two. This one has an actual spine. Posed him leaning on the fence and he held it through two rainy nights.

Smaller than the photos suggest

Worth saying out loud: this is about waist high, not a life-size reaper. The listing photos make it look like it towers over the yard. At 35 inches it is the right size for a bed or a walkway, but if you want the thing that scares people on the porch, this is not that piece. Still four stars because it does exactly what it says.

Good volume once you find the dial

She was almost too quiet out of the box for a two-story porch. There is a volume dial on the cord — once I turned it up she carries to the sidewalk fine.

The lights are the part I did not expect

I bought it for the movement and ended up keeping it for the lights. They run the whole handle, not just the bottom, so at night the whole thing reads from the sidewalk. We have it on the porch next to the door.

Decide where the hands go first

It comes as three pieces: the torso with the arms, then one hand for each side. I set it up twice because my first spacing was too narrow and it just read as a small skeleton.

The glow looks like it's coming from inside the pumpkins

It's not a light aimed at it, the pumpkins actually glow like they're lit from the inside. From the sidewalk you can't tell where the bulb even is.

The eye screens are the upgrade

We ran through the effects the first night and settled on the plain iris. It reads like it is watching the driveway rather than just glowing.

Buy this before anything tall

I lost a skeleton to one storm last year. Nothing anchored with these has moved an inch since.

Bigger than I pictured, in a good way

I read three point seven feet and pictured something you set on a table. It is the size of a small kid, hanging in the air. That is much better than what I expected, but measure your branch height first — I had to re-tie mine higher so the board cleared the walkway.

They are adult height

Photos do not prepare you. The tall one is my height, so from the sidewalk it reads as two people standing in the yard until you get close enough to see what they are.

Neighbors ask where we got it every year

This is our second season with it. Stakes it down fine through storms here, and the motion sensor still triggers reliably a year later.

Five minutes, done

Pushed all four stakes into the flower bed along the walkway in about the time it took my coffee to cool down. No tools, no wiring, no instructions I had to actually read.

Cars actually slow down

Set it at an angle toward the road like the card says. It reads as climbing out even at 20 mph. Neighbor asked where I rented it.

The two heads is the detail that sold me

I run the calm face during the day when the school bus comes by and swap to the dramatic one after dark. Takes maybe thirty seconds once you know the twist-lock. My kids argue over which one is scarier.

The ribs actually glow, not just the outline

I expected a flat printed skeleton. The string lights run right through the ribs, so at night it reads as lit from inside, not just outlined.

My son heard it before he saw it

Put it in the hallway corner facing the stairs. He came down, the music started, and he did not come the rest of the way for a solid minute. He has since shown it to every kid on the street.

Towers over everything else on the street

We've done the smaller skeletons for years. This is a different category of decoration. Cars actually slow down.

Better on hard floor

On the tile in the entry it works exactly like the video. I tried it on the living room rug first and it barely moved — that is on me, not the broom. Moved it to the hallway and it has been going all week.

Slid a little on tile at first, but easy fix

The design itself is fantastic, the purple and orange checkerboard makes the bandaged hand pop even more than the photos show. My only complaint is that on our smooth entryway tile it slid a tiny bit the first week even with the rubber dot backing, but once I pushed it flush against the doormat track it stopped moving completely. Vacuums clean in under a minute and still looks brand new.

Smaller than I pictured, but works out

Ordered the 16 inch in the 2-pack thinking it would cover most of my entryway, and it's noticeably more compact in person than it looked in the listing. Instead of one big mat I ended up laying both side by side right in front of the door and it actually reads better as a pair. Quality of the print and the locked edge are solid, I just should have sized up.

Arrived rolled tight but easy fix

The 24 inch came a little curled at the edges from being rolled for shipping, so it wouldn't sit fully flat in my entryway at first. I put a couple of heavy books on the corners overnight and by morning it laid completely flat with no more curling. The color and print quality are honestly better than I expected for the price, so a minor shipping wrinkle isn't going to stop me from ordering another design.

My fault, ordered the wrong size the first time

Bought the 2-pack for our laminate entryway but didn't measure the doorway width first, so the 24in ended up looking smaller than I pictured next to our console table. Swapped it for the 32in and it fills the space right now. Print quality is sharp either way, and the non-slip dots grip the laminate well so it hasn't budged since we put it down. Knocking one star only because I wish I'd sized it right from the start.

Gorgeous rug, one small thing

Ordered the 2-pack for our entryway and the design is even better in person than in photos, those glowing blue eyes really pop against the black and white spiral. One rug arrived with a stubborn fold crease from being packaged flat, but I left some books stacked on it overnight and it smoothed right out. No complaints now, just wish it had shipped perfectly flat the first time.

Gorgeous, just a touch duller than the photos

Ordered the 2-pack for our living room and hallway and the design itself is stunning — the purple and orange roses crowning the skull really pop against the grey checkerboard. My only gripe is the colors read a little more muted in person than in the product photos, not quite as neon as I expected. It didn't stop me from loving it though, and it's the first thing every guest mentions when they walk in. The quilted texture underfoot is a nice surprise too.
